The School of Education provides graduate degrees in the area of Education Theory and Practice, Literacy Education Studies, and Special Education. The School of Education prepares students to research, develop and implement innovative educational practices. Students in our academic programs are integrated into the field of education through real-world experiences in diverse settings, such as subject-specific clinics and laboratories, professional development classrooms, and research-based practices.
The School of Education houses several graduate and professional programs. Our M.A. literacy education program prepares literacy professionals and certified Reading Specialists to assess and motivate struggling learners. The Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Practice serves as a source of preparation for students toward careers as higher education faculty, education researchers, policy analysts, and work with other educational organizations (e.g., non-profits).
