Nature of the Program

 

The Public Administration Department offers a healthcare administration graduate certificate for students who are interested in a career in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, health departments, nursing homes, mental health services, home health services, nonprofit voluntary agencies, health research foundations, public and private insurance, and a variety of governmental agencies. The certificate program is available to students pursuing a degree other than the MPA degree or it can be pursued alone.

Admissions

Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration

The Public Administration Department offers a healthcare administration certificate for students who are interested in a career in a variety of healthcare settings. Candidates must meet the university requirements for admission.  The GRE is not required for admission to this program.

  • English language proficiency is required in order to hold a graduate teaching assistantship. See here.

  • The Healthcare Administration Certificate program admits students on a rolling basis.

Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration

Certificate Code - CG01

The Public Administration Department offers a healthcare administration certificate for students who are interested in a career in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, health departments, nursing homes, mental health services, home health services, nonprofit voluntary agencies, health research foundations, public and private insurance, and a variety of governmental agencies. Graduation requirements: Students must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must also earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of B- in all courses applied to the certificate.

Each student must successfully complete 15 credit hours, including four required courses and one elective.

Upon completion of the certificate, students should be able to:
